BJP ~ October 2008
Tonight I was able to finish my October 2008 BJP piece.
Here is October Bird -- She has Halloween colors being October and all. Her head and top body are beaded with tiny little clear pale yellow flowerette beads held in place with brown #13 Charlotte beads. The outline of the wings are lovely green silver lined beads and the center of the wings done with seed bead and bugle beads. Her underbody is peyote beaded in a shimmering orange bead. A fun little bird to do. If I can get a better photo of her soon, I will replace the one here -- too much rain to get outdoor or even daylight photos.
Below I have posted a photo of the underbody of both September and October Birds ---

Looks great, Jackie. Bead when you can. It's a great way to keep your mind occupied. Love the whole idea of the wreath.

Jackie - very cute! Yep, bead when you can and let your art help you deal with tough times. Besides, there is no rule that you cannot work ahead, or even make more than 1 project for any given month. Later on, if things "even" out, you will have lots of birds and can use more than 1 bird for a month! Best wishes on all the health issues in your family.

Your little birds are lovely and just keep beading.
Oh how cute! And I love the display idea.
I love your birds. It is going to be fun to see what each one looks like.
Bead when the spirit moves ya...and the little birds are an inspired idea and they look wonderful!
Jackie: Another cutie! One of the best things about bead embroidery is that you can do it just about anywhere!!
Best wishes from here on your families health.

October's birdie is just as cute as September's! I agree with everyone else, bead when you can and enjoy it. Sending happy prayers your way.
jackie you are amazing! I was so inspired by your little birdies, I ordered 2 from Ronda to make for myself. I seem to have a bird fetish so maybe they will be perfect. Any tips on beading them you want to share? Tracey
Your October bird is beautiful. The eye on the bird makes him seem alive.
Thanks to you generously letting me use the idea of all the same shape doll, I finally selected the shape and got sewing. I even marked on paper what I thought that I might do for each month.
Thanks to you I got myself over the hump so to speak. It is my first venture like this and I really needed a shove.
thanks,
Marianne
My gosh, Jackie -- this is awesome!

Hello Jackie, so happy to find your Blog. Your dish of dolls would be like a grown up trip to the sweet-shop! best wishes Kath in England www.railwaycottage.blogspot.com
Thank you all for your kind and encouraging words about October Bird. These little birds are fun and a challenge at the same time.
I don't think I will peyote stitch another underbody for at least several months -the edges of the wings are not even and it is hard to get the peyote done to look good --since this was my first attempt at doing something like this I am quite pleased with the look and somewhere in the rest of the BJP year I probably will do at least one more that way.
Again, thank you all --
Wowie, love the beaded birdie! What a kewl idea. I'm still working on mine but gotta finish the BAD project first!

Thanks again to all -- and special thanks to Ronda Kivett who made 12 darling bird bodies for me -- I do sew, but too much going on and I fell in love with these little birds.
They are approximately 3 inches long by abut 2 inches tall.
Thank you also to Robin Atkins who dreamed up this wonderful adventure for us all -- both lookers and participants.
I'm sooooooooo glad that you got the link to your blog cleared, as I've been wanting to see little birdie #2 ever since you said we could take a "peep." Adorable they both are, indeed!!!! Also, thanks for the non in your comment above this. Hugz, Robin A.
These are turning out just too cute to say. You are going to be so happy to see your finished wreath. It will be a treasure.
