Etalli's Front Finished

Etalli, my beaded doll for the Arsenic & Old Lace beaded doll challenge on BAD, is almost done.  There is a little to do yet on her back, but her hair is finished and that seems to take the longest time to do.  She has been a lot of fun and I will miss working on her.  She gets a few days rest from being pricked and prodded while I take a class tomorrow and know I will want to play with what I have learned over the weekend.  So, Etalli, enjoy your quiet time -- soon I will have needle in hand again and get you completely finished.

Kumihimo bracelet

My first attempt at Kumihimo braiding -- or as Aryd'ell calls it when it includes beads, Kumibeado.

This is what all the strands of beads from the last post turned in to.  Albeit I still haven't found end caps or cones to finish it off.  But here it is with all my goofs -- it was such fun to do even if I felt like I had 20 thumbs and 40 fingers.

Hmmmm, what will this become?

                           Wonder what this will be....................

Here are my 400 beads all strung and waiting for my brain to figure out the directions before I can go to the next step and do this "easy" piece.

Another Snowy Night

Photos taken from my front porch about 1:30 in the morning.  The snow is still coming down, and as tired as I am of snow and cold can't help but be thrilled by the beauty.  Photos below taken this morning.

Arsenic & Old Lace challenge doll ~ Etalli

Pictured is Etalli my "in progress" Arsenic & Old Lace challenge doll. Since Arsenic is a metalloid, the metallic face seemed appropriate. I also am choosing a lot of metal-like beads to go along with the theme.

She is really hard to photograph, but you get the idea.

Cuff Bracelet for Challenge Finished

This cuff bracelet was made for a challenge. It was a fun learning experience and the finished cuffs made by others on the Yahoo group Beaddreamz are just gorgeous.

A ray of warm sunshine on a cold winter day....

Today it is below zero AGAIN and rather overcast -- but oh my, when I opened my mail it was like a blast of summer sun and warmth~for there was a package all the way from Australia from my friend Dot. Thank you so much, Dot, your package made my day.

First, this wonderful Dotee ATC -- Isn't she just the cutest little thing? There's so much love that goes into all the Dotee Dolls, be they the original little doll form, a great big Dotee, or this fantastic Dotee ATC.

And then, so I always have a ready supply of fabrics for new Dotee dolls, this great assortment of fabrics, charms and trims ---. Thank you again, Dot. What a delight ;-)

Dotee from Noel

Look at this darling Dotee doll I received from Noel. I named her "Sunshine" because she came all the way from sunny California to the snowy mid-west to brighten my day -- and she certainly has. Thank you so much, Noel, I love her and it was such fun doing a trade with you.

Pollyanna In The Snow

Polly having a wonderful time in the snow. There was only about 8 inches when this video was taken -- but the snow picked in and it is continuing so we may still get the almost 14 inches predicted. Schools are closed as are many malls -- and O'Hare Airport cancelled, I think they said, 1000 flights. Munchkin wasn't too thrilled with the snow -- she got lost in is :-)

Magazine Cover

I just got word that one of my daughter's photos from last summer will be featured as a cover to the Kids on the Cape magazine. And who is the photo of, you ask? Why none other than my youngest grandson.

So if you are summering on Cape Cod in 2008, you just might get to see it in person!

Love thinking about the beach on a day when we have 11"+ of snow outside!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here's the bracelet I finished last night. Swarovski crystals -- really a sparkly little thing. The Montees that look like a dark color in the photo are actually clear crystals -- they are just reflecting my red sweatshirt.
