A Little Progress ~

I was able to get a small start on Timrek (that's Kermit spelled backwards LOL) tonight.  All the beads are shades of green -- the ones that look black are actually an olive green.  It will be interesting to see how many of the green beads I have on the tray that I actually use.

That's looking great!!! I think the center looks like a lotus flower!
Do you really use delica's in bead embroidery? Wow, I have to say, I wouldn't because they are so expensive! They have such big holes, how do they act for you on bead embroidery? I wonder if they wobble - don't keep their line as well as chech or japanese.
Do you typically bead weave with them?
Cheers, Denise

It's great to have such a good selection, though, isn't it!

Thank you all for your encouraging comments. This is a fun piece to work on -- but then, aren't they all?

I hadn't planned the flower to be a lotus flower -- but now 2 of you have seen it is such -- so maybe that is what it is LOL. To me it is just a Padula flower (in rug hooking terms, a Padula is an 'imaginary' flower).

I haven't had any problems with the Delica's rolling. Maybe because I pack the beads to tightly together. And a year ago I purchased a TON of delica's on sale at a shop for $1.00 a tube. Less than I would pay for other beads -- so I feel good that I am actually using them. I really love the lightest colored ones on Timrek --- they are a lime green and just gorgeous.

Thank you all for stopping by.
