Today is the 50th anniversary of my Dad's deathMy niece, Sharry, hung the casket flag - the first time it has been unfolded, and set out a photo of Dad and Mom The little note says: Remembering Webster W. Blazier Jan. 16, 1887 ~ July 24, 1959 Thank you, Sharry -- I know Grandpa would be thrilled that you honored him today.
Take note, the flag has 48 stars, this was before Alaska and Hawaii became our 49th and 50th states.

What a nice tribute, wish more people would do something like this.
Back a few days ago I asked for the scissors pattern, you gave me the site, I thought I had downloaded it, now can't find it, I guess one of those senior moments, could you give me the site again?? Thanks
Thanks.
Barbara, here is the link again for
the STORK SCISSOR PATTERN.
Thanks so much for the site again, this time I had the sense to save it to my favorites.
That is really a nice post!
That's really super. When my dad died, all the neighbors up and down his street found a flag to hang out for the old soldier. It brought tears of gratitude to my eyes as they showed their respect and love for the old man on the block.
Thank you all -- it was my niece who did this -- you know, I am amazed at how much the young folks were touched -- maybe all is not lost after all -- and freebird's account of the neighbors paying tribute to her father is more proof -- we do still live in a good world -- hope more of the goodness shows up.
Blessings to all.
Hi Jackie!
This is very sweet ~ I so enjoyed your blog.
Thanks so much for coming by mine!
